Celiac Disease
February 21, 2018:
Celiac Disease is a disease that affects hundreds of people. I've rounded up a little information on it.
Symptoms of Celiac Disease:
abdominal bloating and pain
chronic diarrhea
vomiting
constipation
pale, foul-smelling, or fatty stool
weight loss
fatigue
irritability and behavioral issues
dental enamel defects of the permanent teeth
delayed growth and puberty
short stature
failure to thrive
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
unexplained iron-deficiency anemia
fatigue
bone or joint pain
arthritis
osteoporosis or osteopenia (bone loss)
liver and biliary tract disorders (transaminitis, fatty liver, primary sclerosing cholangitis, etc.)
depression or anxiety
peripheral neuropathy ( tingling, numbness or pain in the hands and feet)
seizures or migraines
missed menstrual periods
infertility or recurrent miscarriage
canker sores inside the mouth
dermatitis herpetiformis (itchy skin rash)
For me, I was having severe diarrhea multiple times a week, a small eczema like patch on my skin, random rashes show up, and random unexplained bruising. If you have any symptoms, you should talk to your Dr.
I always felt miserable and sluggish. After I went gluten free for 2 weeks I noticed a huge difference. I stopped having the miserable pain and diarrhea. After about 6 months, I lost nearly 65 lbs. Now that I have lost this weight, I'm headed to the gym to keep it off and in hopes to loose more now that I am trying to eat healthier. I'd like to loose another 50 lbs or so. I don't know if I will be able to do so, but hard work and determination might prove helpful.
This is my blog. This is my voice.
